It looks like you qualify under NOC 2147. However the cap (300 applications) has very likely already been reached for NOC 2147 since this is a very popular occupation. If your application is recieved by CIC after the cap has been reached, your application will be returned to you unprocessed.

yes you obviously qualify for 2147, systems engineer and network engineers are included in 2147. The problem here is the cap reach as applications are pouring into the Centralized Intake office. your ielts is good and your spouse's ielts will give your extra 5 points.
but what about ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) have you done it? if not, then i am afraid you are late.
The process overall is an easy one just need some knowledge. this forum really helps newbies.

Good luck :)

Go through the forum threads on FSW, and you'll have an idea on how much shear amount of competition is there for your category. It's you who has to decide and make a final call on applying or not, we all are here only to support/clear each others ideas/doubts.

Here, you can find complete info:-
cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp

as per my calculation you will get:-
Age 12 pts
Experience 13 pts
education 23 pts
language 22 pts
spouse ielts 5 pts
===============
75 pts >>>>> required 67
===============

So, go for it. All the best.

Thanks for your response. But unfortunately still I couldn't do the ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) because I get to know this very recently. How can know about the remaining quota available ? you mentioned it as 300 for one occupation.

But in here says that in ' CIC/complete-applications'

Eligible occupation
(by National Occupational Classification [NOC] code) Number of complete applications counted

2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers 51

what does this mean and if this is the indication of available quota then it says as already 51 completed. So still 249 remaining. Is that so ?

Thanks

No - it doesn't mean that 249 spaces are still available. It means that CIC has only process 51 applications so far. They could have hundreds more for that same NOC sitting in their mailroom unprocessed.

We know based on previous years that the numbers on the CIC site are extremely behind. My own opinion is that the numbers you see now on the CIC site only reflect applications received the first and maybe second week of May.

ok thanks. Is it too late for me to start my migration process with having 75 marks ? :-[ :-[ :-[
No body can answer you this exactly, as no one knows what's the current filled up FSW applications, except the CIC's announced 163 count. As I said earlier, it is all up to you to decide.

hi luqi,

I 100% agreed with your statement and no doubt that this forum provides imperative assistance to new comers. Thanks to the valuable assistance from you , now I know that my starting point should be 'ECA (Educational Credential Assessment)'. I did some further reading on cic site and they specified 4 main bodies in this regard.

Comparative Education Service: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies;
International Credential Assessment Service of Canada;
World Education Services; and,
Medical Council of Canada.

According to you expertise knowledge what is best suite for the 2147-Computer engineers (except software engineers/designers) category. I know that I have to go through first 3 options and which one is best suite for me ? Is it possible me to go any option ?

Thanks

you can rule out the medical council ofcourse.....any of the other 3 will do the job. Most people in this forum have chosen "WES", so you might choose it as well.
