Need assistance on Open work permit extension

Can someone please help me out on the below?

I have an open work permit which expires in March 2011. I got this at the port of entry as my spouse had a skilled work permit which also expires in March 2011. His employer will be renewing his work permit by end of Jan 2011. I currently am job hunting and do not have an employer who can file for my renewal. Both of us are IT professionals.
1)What are the documents needed for my open work permit extension?
2)What are the chances of rejection in case I do not have a job by the time I submit my renewal? I have worked in Canada from Apr 2010 to August 2010 and have a record of employment with my previous employer.
3)How long does the open work permit extension process take? Is this something I can do at a port of entry once my husband's work permit extension is stamped?

Please help!!

Your OWP will not be renewed until your spouse gets a renewed work permit, so you should send your application with your spouse's. You don't need a job to get a SOWP.

Thanks for the information. Assuming that my spouse will get his passport stamped with his WP extension by end of Jan 2011, I will initiate my extension once his renewal gets through. I need to know-
a) What are the documents that I need to to submit for my Open work permit extension?
b) Approximately how long would my extension take?

I am not finding the rules for SOWP extension on the immigration site.

Why wouldn't you send your application for a SOWP with your spouses, both then would be processed at the same time. Otherwise you have to send the IMM 1249 with proof of his work permit and then wait additional time.

Thanks, I did spot in my husband's WP extension form where there is an option for extending SOWP. Will try that way, but am not very sure if my spouse's employer would approve my extension. We should know that soon, Thanks!

His employer does not need to approve your extension, only his.
