Hello,

I would appreciate if you give me some advices about starting partnership business in Canada.
I'm Ukrainian citizen and planning to register a partnership with canadian citizen. So I have few questions:
1) Do I need to visit Canada to handle this registration? Or it could be done remotely?
2) What visa type do I need to get to visit Canada on business purposes? For example if I and my partner want to meet with investors.
3) If business goes well, we have several canadian employees, can I apply somehow for a PR?

Thank you.

Best regards
Eugene

Hi Eugene:
- No, not necessarily. Bank account opening could also be done remotely provided you will not be a signing officer
- Standard TRV
- The fact that you are in a partnership with someone and the company employs several people does not grant you a PR, but could be used as a positive factor for several programs. All would depend on what, where you do and what's the accumulated company value in $$. Say, in a few Provinces it could be used for Provincial business immigration.

* One thing we encountered a few years ago running business with partners from Scotland: your Canadian partner will not be able to obtain credit card for the company without your presence in the bank. Might not be an issue, but could still be inconvenient. Say, you'd need to use it for online purchases.
