hi people ,
Well my mom applied for immigration as a skilled worker on june 2003, early in this year we received letter from Canadian high commission to submit police clearance and many other documents like background declaration of family , personal history etc, then in the mid of this year we were asked to send visa processing fees with visa photographs of me(dependent) , me mom(main applicant) and my younger brother(dependent), then last month on October 14 we got letter from Canadian high commission for medical checkup, so we went to medical doctor and had our medical checkup on 6th November , i was just checking the status of our application on 12th November , i never clicked on "in process" link and i by chance clicked on it and discovered that Interview is scheduled for December 4, 2008. I don't know why CHC have decided to call interview , can anybody shed some light ..

BTW Canadian High commission has not received our medical results as it was not showing up on application status and we called doctor and he said he posted results on 11 November and results were fine.
So Why interview ??i am really confused

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
An interview has always been part of the application process. Some applicants have been fortunate enough to have the interview waived. It all depends on the officer assessing your case.

During the decision-making process, the officer may contact you if:
• further documentation is required
• a personal interview is required

have your mum check out the post started by mikeramma " Prepare an interview " It should help her.

I am not sure about other countries, but according to some research I did, I have noticed that from US Buffalo office, interview is usually waived if your case is simple and all documents are attached. In your case, I am not sure how many points you have and how much you got in IELTS test, they may want to verify the English abilities but this is just my guess. Sometime people have 70 points even with low IELTS scores and they want to ensure that you can pass through the interview.

Just practice for the interview, some sample questions are posted on this site.

Best of luck!!

As I said earlier, low IELTS score and you still have 70 so they want to ensure that you can speak and understand English. Just practice the interview questions, some sample questions are posted in this forum.
