Need advise on TRV visa status

Hi Everybody, I have one question about my status in Canada on TRV (visitor) visa. I have multiple entry TRV valid till 27th May 2013. I had entered Canada on 7th Feb 2013 and my status (handwritten date on passport) was granted until 18th Feb 2013. I wanted to stay longer to do some tourism and visit family members. I had applied to extend my stay on 9th Feb requesting to stay till 11th March 2013. I want to stay till 12th March. My questions are,

1) Can I stay 1 day longer than I requested? OR I need to apply to extend my stay for one day?

2) I am planning to apply for FSW program in May this year. Would it affect adversely anywhere if I stay longer than retested? Although, decision will not come through by 12th March anyway.

On CIC website (sorry, I can't post link. Go on Google search and type: CIC visit extend stay):

"Implied status

If your visitor visa expires after you have submitted your application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada, you will be considered in status as a temporary resident (visitor) until a decision is made on the application. This is known as implied status."

You mentioned that you had applied to extend your stay on Feb 9th, I believe that you have implied status; hence you can stay until a decision has been made on your new application.

Thank you for your response TOAidy, I just need to get one clarification. It is correct that I have applied to extend my status on 9th Feb to stay till 11th March. However, I am planning to leave Canada on 12th March. Is it still fine to stay till 12th March? Thank you again

I see what you mean. Was your extension granted? Can't you leave before March 11th? Why did you request to extend your stay until March 11th, instead of a later date?

Either way, you must be careful regarding the date you enter and leave Canada as they will have records of that.

No, my extension has not been granted yet. I have an important appointment on 12th morning so I cannot leave before 12th. Unfortunately, I was not aware about this appointment at the time of applying extension.

Any other advises, please?
