The OP may wish to follow the instructions

• notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers,
accompanied by an English or French translation
• original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers.
Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full
address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official
seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent
in each position
your main responsibilities in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits
• the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the
company
• a business card of the person signing

PMM

I have seen so many applicants at this forum who only submitted their employer reference certificates only and got accepted. But as per PMM following must be stated on the reference letter:

• your main responsibilities in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits

but in Singapore Visa Office Specific instruction they said
"notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers,
accompanied by an English or French translation"

so, isn't the employment contract/appointment letter needed?

bdg,

an appointment letter is not an employment contract unless it states there that they are officially hiring you and stating your position, work hours, salary and other conditions and where both you and a company officer or representative sign.

like you said, the appointment letter you have is just a letter asking you to join them. it's nowhere near an employment contract.

can't you just ask the company you worked for to give you a certification? tell them exactly what you need based on the visa-office specific instructions.
