I need expert advice please , i have got the refusal letter 2 days back and the reason most likely could be my education gap. Hence I'm planning to apply for a short course in Canada since I m already here. I came here on 8th May on visitors visa which Is valid for another 5 years. I have got the acceptance letter for 23 weeks course. Now I'm planning to go back to UAE(my country of residence) first and then come back after 10 days so that I could easily finish my course within those 6 months without being worried about over stay.
My question is would it be a problem at the port if I'm returning just in 10 days after staying 3 months in Canada ? I will have my enrolment and explaination letter from the institute where I intend to take the short course from. would that be enough for me to easily get entry into Canada that frequently ? I intent to go back to Dubai after I finish this course and reapply the study permit from there.
Does this make sense ?

Thanks and regards,

Everything went really smooth, back to Canada and started my course already. :)
If you belong to one of the following groups, you need to apply to extend your stay as a student in Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-student.asp:

  • minor children studying at the primary or secondary level
  • exchange or visiting students
  • students who have completed a short-term course or program of study, which is a condition for acceptance at a designated institution
  • holders of temporary resident permits (TRP) valid for a minimum of six months and their family members
  • foreign nationals who cannot be removed from Canada for reasons beyond their control
  • spouses or common-law partners (and their family members) who are in Canada and who have applied for permanent residency if they have been deemed eligible to apply (first stage approval)
  • person whose study permit was authorized by a visa office abroad where the permit was not issued at a port of entry
  • family members of athletes on a Canadian-based team, media representatives, members of the clergy or military personnel assigned to Canada
  • family members or a private staff member of a foreign representative who is properly accredited, may apply within Canada 90 days before or after they are no longer authorized to study without a study permit
  • foreign nationals and their family members holding a valid study or work permit
Remember that you can’t stay in Canada beyond the expiry date of your passport. If you renewed your passport since entering Canada, you have to submit photocopies of both your new passport and the stamp placed in your old passport.

All other applicants
If you don’t belong to one of the groups above, you must submit a study permit application. To apply, you must:
  • apply online or use a paper application in a country outside Canada where you are lawfully admitted.
