Need Advice

Hey Guys,
I would love some advice from you.

I am 24 years old, working in Dubai and now i want pursue a PG course in Canada in Food Science and
Technology in Alberta,Canada.
My Scores are,
10th 78%
12th 61%
Graduation 49.75%
IELTS - yet to appear (am confident i will score above 7 )

Now, the problem is, my agent says, he cant guarantee a Student Visa coz i dnt have 50% in my graduation, and its a strict requirement for Canada.
I was wondering, doesnt 49.75% round up to 50% neways?
I have been working ever since i finished my graduation in 2009, so i have more than 3 years of full time
work experience.

Please give me some advice, as what can be done, i really want to go Canada for PG

you marks r low which will create problem.
can u tell me in which ur UG is and in which feild ur r working.?
by taking masters in university u chances will be high for visa.

Yea i know my Marks are low.
I got too much involved in sports, which resulted into falling of my grades.

I did my UG in Biotechnology and I have been in FMCG Industry in Quality Assurance Department since 3 years. 2 years in India and 1+ in Dubai.

U said, i may have a chance with a Masters..am definitely excited to know more. ;D

hi,
You specifically want to apply for food science in Alberta ?? I mean you have more options like I m an graduate in Bioinformatics looking for Industrial microbiology in Toronto.

no, am open for other courses also.
Its just that I ws thinking a course in Food Science would compliment with my industrial experience.
I was also considering Industrial Microbiology in Centennial college.
But the question still remains,
Do i have any chance of getting a Student Visa if i have less than 50% marks in graduation?

but you have nice work experience so you should go for it I guess..and for Industrial Microbiology(fast track diploma which is same as post graduation)I have got admit for sept intake 2013.

Hi Bhavik,

Don't completely litsen to your consultant.. it is always ok to apply.... u have exerience now.... u are not going for a reserch based study..... you going for PG......!! try to get good marks in IELTS.....

about your consultant.... you know these consultants always encourage people to go on immigration which u never know when u will get and totally depending the profession list.....!!! and other side they earn more money in consultancy for immigration... suppose if a student visa consultancy is 1000$.. for Immigration their services are 3000$.. this is just an example may be they charge 2500$ hehe.....But just think..... getting disheart after the effort of 1-2 month is not heart burning then after 2 years you will get to know that you are not eligible for immigration for some stupid reasons......!!!!! hope u get my point.. so more fast thing is study...... if you want to study further cheap... u can decide after u finish ur study for PR plan and further courses u can do after that!!!!

i would say apply for masters in some university if u selected u r good to go.but if u r no u can allways choose PG course no worries . i want to tell u that there no Fee difference in masters and any diploma course there is problem in gitting admission .u r agent will say go for PG course because they get High commision from colleges not from UNiversity.

Do more research. Don't believe your agent much. Ask them to get the admission from university instead of college. Post all your queries here and these guys will enlighten you with pros and cons.
