hi..i sponsered my husband from canada. he is in india. i sent the application package on may. then after some days i went went back to india to see my husband. then i came back after 3 and half months. could it be a problem in our case? we already got approval and they already asked for the passport drom my husband. our application is in process.

If you are a citizen, you would not have had a problem. If you are a PR, you would have had a problem had they asked for proof of your residing in Canada. Your application could have been cancelled but if they already asked for his passport, it sounds like you got away with it.

no.they did not asked me anything about my residence proof after we submitted the application.but i sent the copy of my pr card with the package.

will they ask me about it? i mean i have my ticket and everything, and i was visiting my husband.

Like I already said, if they asked for his passport already and did not mention it, it sounds like you got away with it.

PR sponsors must be residing in Canada. You may say you were only visiting but 3.5 months is quite a long stay. I would generally advise PR sponsors not to leave Canada for more than 3-4 weeks at a time and if that, make sure that someone is checking their mail and messages in case immigration were to get in touch. If immigration had found out that you were gone that long, they might have stated that you were obviously not living in Canada any more and they could have cancelled your application. It has happened to other people but it sounds like you got lucky and they did not find out.

hi..i got a phone call today early in the morning . it had a area code (204) which is our area code in canada. The lady talke to my mom amd asked about the address. because i have my old address in file. so she confirmed the address and asked do you know mr....., my husbands name? and my mom said ya we do. does anyone knows where did they call from? i think it was from new delhi.because it was to early for canadian embassy to call. it was 6.45 am in the morning today. I am so scared. why did they call us ? what is going to happen next? please reply. and our status says in process. they started working on our file on september 14.
