Need Advice TRV Delay

Hello there

I have applied for a TRV via the CIC IOM office in Amman Jordan in July 2013.

I was contacted twice by the embassy to send police certificates ie: good conduct and non conviction.

I still have not heard back from them and they say my application is undergoing security checks in Ottawa.

Anyone when through the same situation ?

My friend applied for a tourist visa from lebanon (paper) on october 17 and still waiting for an answer, she called the embassy couple of times and all they told her was to send an email.

I sent so many emails and the reply I got today was this:

"This is in response to your email below regarding your application for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa [File # ].

Your application is still pending the result of the Background Checks, and we are following up with Canada about it on a regular basis.

Your patience is much appreciated."

I do not know what is taking so long

I applied online for Travel Visa on Nov 15th 2013 from USA (I'm a non-resident Indian origin person working at US).
The website shows 'updated last on Nov 30th.
But still haven't got the approval...more than 50 days! Sad

Anybody in the same boat?

My situation is exactly the same like yours. However, last time applied in 2012 Jan it came in 11 working days.
This time the application is still pending since Nov. mid 2013.
They really need to improve upon the efficiency and communication channels.
