We don't know yet if the new rules applies to students already in Canada so you may be wrong in your assumption that you can work without a work permit.

The new rules apply to students with resident permits issued after June 1st.

During school terms, it is actually up to 40hrs per week, but summer break is full time. You work as you can (combine or from different employers it doesn't matter). The only issue here is whether or not the new rules will apply to those who're already in Canada before June 1st.

Check the link I posted above. The link was update last week by CIC clarifying that new rules apply on everyone... both new and old students with few exceptions for those who are stuck with wrong colleges or co-op stuff.

Hi guys, I have a bit of confusion regarding summer job. ***I may be wrong and kindly correct me wherever needed.***
As per cic website, International students can work full-time during summer break. I currently work part-time on-campus. I'll be getting my off-campus SIN number on 2nd June (as per new rules). So my friends hooked me up for a nice camp job for 3 months during my break (june-aug approx. 40-50 hrs/week). My problem starts here.
On-campus job is indefinite and they will continue to pay me even during break (work is still there) and i wish to keep it throughout my course and beyond (I can work part-time from home as well just to let u know and i'll be promoted next semester). Now my question is CAN I WORK these 2 JOBS DURING SUMMERS? or Do I need to pick one? I would like to keep myself within CIC rules (no unintentional errors!)

I would highly appreciate your honest replies.

Yes, I saw it too. It all depends if your university/college is among the dsignated ones, then everything will be fine!!

Exactly! This is such an awesome news for me and everyone who came in Jan 2014. I can put my summer holidays to some pretty good use now and gather more local experience. I would still like to call CIC and cross-confirm.
