Hello Everyone,

Here is my situation:

1) My work permit is getting expired in first week of May. Need to apply for extension either through LMO or through Bride open WP ( I qualify for that too). Along with my WP extension, I need to apply for my spouse and kids TRV status extension as well.

Question number 1 ) While our application is in process, Could my spouse and kid visit our home country for a vacation? Some where I read that , while the extension is getting processed, we should not move out the country. Is that true?

Questions number 2 ) The other option I have is, I can apply for extension once they come back from their vacation. But, the other issue is, the TRV Visa on their passport is expired. In case if they go for vacation to home country, CAn they get their new TRV visa stamped at home country ( India) with the available paper work. Please suggest.

I will advice not to move out when the extension is in progress. Just experienced it, TRV for me and my wife was granted after good 6 weeks and that too after escalation emails from my company.

I will advice to get the TRV from Canada itself. Now you can do that too, just see CIC website.

It will save you lot of anxiety later on.

Yes your Kid and spouse can visit home country while your extension application is in progress. You need to ensure they come back before the expiry of old Temporary residence visa.
