Hi All,

I received AOR on Aug 2nd and didn't receive medical request yet. I am going for a vacation to my native place for 3 months. I heard now a days once medical requests received we need complete it with in 60 days..so i may not meet these time lines if it come over my vacation period...So..planning to go for advance medicals...!

I am planning to do advance medicals, so once DMP send all documents to ottawa with file# starting with E# or UCI# if i receive the package from buffalo to do medicals, Do i need send any documents or simply ignore the package sent by buffalo?

Any other inputs on advance medicals?

Thanks,

Advance medicals in not advisable.

Check if it is possible to change your address for communication to the place where you are going. And once you are back, you can update the same.

Why do you think that? Many CEC applicants have done advance medicals, and those people seem to get approved faster, which isn't surprising since it cuts out one phase of the AOR - IA+MREQ - ME - PPR process. The 12-month validity is very rarely an issue, unless you do medicals before AOR (but the OP has received AOR). Getting lost in the system is also not a major issue as far as I can tell, as long as you have your file number (which the OP does).

may be they will seggest you what type of med. tests you need to do in their letter and may be you need to submit it within 30 days.. who knows.

i dont think you can change your address for just 3 months .. u should better wait for the med req. as its a very important stage and you dont wanna miss this opotunity, do you..

How you will know , thru which doctor in your location to get the medicals done and what kind of tests ?

Medicals are the same for everyone. Some people will have to undergo additional tests and visit specialists, but that's based on the examination by the DMP.

The list of DMPs (doctors) is on the CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx). The medical instructions will just tell you to go to that website anyway...

Note that if you are outside of Canada, DMPs tend to be reluctant to do early medicals. I don't know why; all DMPs are supposed to keep blank forms. If you're in Canada, as CEC applicants often are, early medicals are pretty easy.

You could try doing it using your Client ID, but that isn't well-tested (I know of one person who did it). Doing it before AOR won't save much time (if any). I would wait until AOR, when you get your regular file number.
