Hello everyone,
I am not sure if this would be the right place to ask questions or ask for advice, so sorry about that in advance if its the wrong section.
I have studied Digital arts in BC. I really love it here and I want to settle in Canada. Currently i have moved to the northeast section of BC as when i graduated (last year) Northeast pilot program seemed like the best way to get PNP for PR. But now as times have changed, its become one of the trickiest if not the hardest way to get in. Currently i am working in a Skill D job with min wage pay and seeing this town is dieing due to the oil field issue, its hard to get any jobs. I am getting a Skill B job in toronto related to my field of study(pays a lot better than I am getting now) from June. Before i go more into my situation about this part, just some basic info about my qualifications. I have finished my Bachelors in Mass Media from India aswell as a diploma in animation from back home aswell. I graduated last year in April from my college here and got my 3 year work permit in November. I have 1 year work exp from India working in my Dads company handling everything from talking to clients to creating promotional material.A years worth working as a cashier here.
My major concerns at this point are of getting PR. A few friends have suggested to me not to go for pnp but go for federal directly if i get a field of study job.The company refuses to give a LMIA.Though they will give me a permanent job offer letter with no end date. My biggest confusion is wither i should take it or not considering PR. I havnt given my IELTS yet as i wanted to give it at a later date as it lasts for only 2 years. I had received 7.5 Bands when i had given the exam for my academic purposes so I am hoping i can still get about that much or at least a 7 if i give it now. After reading about the various fedral categories, the express entry pool as well as some posts here on the forums, from what i have gathered PNP and LMIA are very important to get PR. Though have there been cases where people have it without them? I really need to know if i should follow my dream and get a job in my field or stay in bc and hope they change the rules to make it easier as most have been saying here they plan to do that, but by the time they do it could be around the time my 2 year period to file will get over.
