I think with the age difference they will be looking at other things. Like how much time did you spend together in person, not just long distance, how long did you know each other before marriage, signs that your relationship is genuine.

There's 15 years between my husband and me. People on here said it will be seen as a red flag but I think we have a very, very strong case so I'm not worried about it. AS long as you have proof that it's a true relationship then you should be ok.

15 years is not a lot.. there are some people with 40+ years age gap that have had problems though.

What is your age difference? I am 20 years older than my husband and we have been together since Spring 2008 and got refused. We had to appeal and we won our appeal.

Age is just one factor, but a significant age difference does increase the level of scrutiny that a VO would reasonably give to a relationship. My spouse and I have an 18 year age difference, but we put together a good case and the VO agreed that our relationship was genuine. In preparing the materials, it is one of the points that we addressed specifically (we had three potential red flag issues, including the age difference).

Be up front with them, explain why your relationship is genuine despite the age difference. Discussing how you deal with that, from friends and family and with each other can help as well.

In the end you must tell a convincing story to the VO. If she or he believes your story, you won't need to fight harder the next round (IAD appeal).

I'd say 15 years is a red flag and should treat it as such. Nonetheless, as others have mentioned, with a strong case you can balance it out.
