Need a Visitor Visa for a PG 1 Visa

Hi everyone

I am trying to help my parents who have a PG 1 visa apply for a Japan tourist visa, and they will only accept a Visitor Record and not the PG 1 super visa itself.

Question is how do I obtain a Visitor Record if they have a Multi entry super visa? Because we dont need to extend their stay since they only been in Canada for less than a year.

They would need to apply for the visitor record online through the IRCC web site, following the normal process. It is a bit strange to be doing this, so they can consider including an LOE to explain why they need one.

I've been looking for this on their website but all I can find is extend the stay. Do you have a link to that page for the Visitor Record?

Why are they not applying based on their citizenship? They are only visitors in Canada.

They are doing that. Embassy/consulate requires proof of valid status in Canada.
