we are students.

we just got married and my wife has completed education and she is working on open work permit of 1 year as a cashier.

Currently i am student and i have one more year to go than i will get three years work permit.

we both did Master Degree in backhome and we both have 1 year experiance too in our own field at backhome after education.

so now we are just confused about applying for PR.

IN WAHT CATEGORY WE SHOULD APPLY FOR PR WITHER CEC OR FSW...!!!!

please help me.

I heard that still some categories in FSW are running in which we can put an application for PR with or more than 67 point...!!

is it true and if it is can you please tell me which categories are running under that ...please...

thanks.

in order to qualify for cec, u need to acquire ur work experience from within canada and the experience must be either noc A,O or B. unfortunately, ur wife does not qualify under these category. in order to qualify, she need to have studied for 2 years, obtained 3 yrs work permit and have worked full time for one year or equivalent in part time within canada. she is not qualified with one year work permit so it is better to wait till u graduate and work 1 year under these category before u can apply. she didnt complete at least 2 yrs degree in canada and back home experience of one year doesn't count either. she has only one year work permit and will not be eligible for canadian experience class. i think federal skilled worker is not accepting application for now and she is not qualify in this category either.

Currently, it does not appear that either of you are eligible under CEC or FSW.

CEC: Without earning a degree in Canada, your wife would need 2 years of SKILLED work experience (cashier is not classified as skilled) in Canada to qualify (The work requirement is changing in January to 1 year). For you, if you study for at least 2 years and earn a degree, you would need an additional 1 year of skilled work experience.

Two classes are still open - Arranged Employment - your wife would have to have a job in a skilled occupation - and the PhD class (you have to have completed at least 2 years in a PhD program).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

To better understand what "skilled employment" is, you should look at the NOC website and the classification matrix for skill level O, A, and B.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/html/Matrix.html

You do not state what province you are in, but a third (future) alternative might be the provincial nomination class -
each province has its own programs and eligibility criteria, but mostly rely on in-Canada post-secondary education and skilled employment experience as well.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/index.asp

Best of luck with your studies -

Thank you so much for your replay.

We are from Ontario.

Can you please guide us what we have to do I order to extend her stay in Canada. After her work permit will expire which is going to expire in July 2013.

My study permit is also gonna expire in July 2013.

We got our marriage license too.

So if we apply for dependent visa now what will happen?

Thanks

If you hold a valid study permit, your wife can apply to renew a work permit -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-eligible.asp#inside

Same if you get the PGWP.
