Hi,

we need a urgent help..

we are currently in canada on student visas.

we just got married here before 3 months.

my wife completed her education of 1 year and she is now on open work permit.

she is doing full time job of cutomer service representative in subway food Inc.

my current status is student and i have two more semester to student.

i have two year course. so most probably i will get 3 year work permit.

now what we should do in order to stay together after her 1 year open work permit.

should we apply for dependent visa or should we go for somthing else.

thanks.

She can get an open work permit based on your study permit. Later when you are on your open work permit, she can get an open permit based on your work permit as long as you have a skilled job. That would probably be the simplest way.

She now has a post grad permit from her course I assume. However, she is still eligible to apply for a dependent permit based on yours.

Thanks a million.!!!!

Yes she has her post graduation work permit based on her course.

should we go for depedent visa or should we gor for PR file...!!!

because she has 1.5 years experiance in back home in her own field and i have 9 months experiance in my own field.

we both did the master degree backhome.

and she is working in SUBWAY., she already got the health card. too..

so what should we do..?

we should go for depedent visa or PR file..?

again thanks.

If you want to stay in Canada for good, you should file for PR if one of you qualifies to apply for PR but getting PR takes probably at least a year or more so before her work permit expires, you should change it to dependent status.

we are students.

we just got married and my wife has completed education and she is working on open work permit of 1 year as a cashier.

Currently i am student and i have one more year to go than i will get three years work permit.

we both did Master Degree in backhome and we both have 1 year experiance too in our own field at backhome after education.

so now we are just confused about applying for Dependent Visa

what will be the right time to apply for dependent visa right now or when her open work permit is gonna expire...?

again thanks.

really its more than satisfactory help provided by members like you on this site.

You might as well apply now. Her work permit will then be valid as long as your study permit. When you graduate and get a post grad work permit, her permit will be invalid again until you get a skilled job. Then she will have to apply for a work permit again as the spouse of a skilled worker.

If she goes home while you wait to find a skilled job, she would be able to apply for the work permit based on your work permit later once you have found a job.
