ND Work Permit Processing Time since February 2012?

I was staying in USA for past few years, so my medical was waived.

Thats nice man, well im into 2nd week only so probable need to wait till Oct, i will also be working from Toronto either Scarborough or Markham

Hi fpaikar!

I don't think so it won't be a problem unless if they take too long to issue your visa. You should know one-thing your passport must be atleast 6 months valid when about to approve your visa. Good Luck

Spouse also received OWP at the same time. We applied together. She was staying in USA with me, so her medical was waived too. Company's canadian attorney prepared the documentations/covering letter for us.

Thanks for the reply.Just wanted to confirm that is it better to apply for the open work permit with the spouse or apply it when in Canada.My husbands contract is for one year initially but extendable.We are planning to apply in the month of September but my passport is expiring in August 2014.So the open work permit I get will only be valid till my passport is valid.Can i extend the work visa there.

After a long wait of 3.5 months...finally received approval email for me & my wife (ICT+OWP(S)) today...My application was received in VFS on 22nd April. CHC received it on 23rd April. Visa tracking site yet to be updated.

Great news avm but how much sure are you that Students don't need Visa after 15-20?

Hi Santy,

The Student permit applications for Sep intake are to be submitted by Aug 1st. CIC will not encourage applications beyond this date. Keeping 2 weeks to process the applications submitted till July end roughly gives us the date.

Also, once the pressure for Fall intake lets up, the visa office will be able to focus on WP.
