Hi varsha
It's been a long time for you. Did you write urgent while sending emails?
Yes fax no. is the same as that on website.
There might be some miscommunication and I am sure you will hear soon from cic. Anywaz for which spousal visa have you applied...I mean spouse of student or worker?

Yes there has been a miscommunication; they say that they emailed me regarding medical furtherance in march, however I didn't recieve any communication. I finished my medical furtherance last to last week and the DMP sent it on Friday and they must have received it last Monday.
I have lived in Canada for 2 years and still they taking so long to process my application. It's just ridiculous!! This time I have applied for SWP of a student, but he has an on campus work permit now.i don't know what I should do now, I have started sending them reminder mails every alternate days!! My life has come to a standstill!!

Any news from March/April applicants?

hi thank you for your quick response.

@ sheena

Have you applied in ND or chandigragh?

Hi all,

It seems that there has been lot of delay in SOWP processing. People who had applied in March/April also are yet to get any reply (Medical request or otherwise).

In such scenario is it posible to take spouse to Canada on Tourist visa (which is valid for 6 months) and then apply for SOWP from there with enought proofs that the person will come back once the SOWP duration gets over.

If not, can anyone suggest other faster ways in this uncertain times.

Your spouse can always apply for WP when she arrives in Canada. I am not a strong advocate for suggesting applying for Visitor Visa for Spouse as the level of uncertainity is more in Visitor visa (especially for spouse). ALthough, the uncertainty is there in OWP (spouse) too but it is less.

To get visitor visa for spouse, convince Visa officer that she will come back soon. If she is working, take a vacation request and then apply and after that go for resignation when visitor visa is approved. If not working then, get any job letter or take any admission anywhere and say that she has to come back to perform her duties.

Also, if you are in Canada, check if there is any company event where you can make reference that your spouse is required for that.......

This way, your file will be on a heavier side.

This is what I can suggest.

Good luck ....

Marriage pictures are optional.........I suggest not to add those......Marriage certificate is enough ...
it is important to give details..but sometimes we should not provide too much details.........send marriage pics only when VO asks for......they have asked one of the member of this forum before ........

Marriage certificate shows your ties to your spouse ........ but we should not emphasize on this too much as it may fade away your ties with India.......

I may be wrong ..but a balance is always required in your application..
