In your case, DMP has taken more time to send the report . I knew that you did medical on 09th Jan and normally they will send the report in one or two working days.

yeah ..they told me on the same day that they will submit in 5 to 6 days ...but they took even more....

I hope phone/sms is not the only means they use to contact us and tell us that the passport is ready?
I accidently gave them the wrong phone number. Hopefully they also use email, or update that horrible status tracker message at the vfs website

VFS will send sms to number that you have given them.At the same time, VFS tracking also will get updated.

Hi all,

Firstly, thank you all for posting here. This thread has been the only source of "new" information as compared to the static vfs tracker website (with the seemingly eternal "under processing" message).

My timelines:
Applied for named work permit for myself and open work permit for spouse on 14 Dec 2012 at VFS Mumbai.
Received medicals request by email today i.e. 17 Jan 2013 at 0836 hrs!
Have booked an appointment at the medical enter tomorrow morning.

I have been following this thread since many days now. Did not write earlier because had nothing but frustration to vent out.

All have their own theory about how CHC, New Delhi works based on their personal experience. My theory is that the time required for them to respond depends on many factors. First in, first out is alright but what matters most is the complexity level of each individual application. If, unfortunately, there is even a slight deviation from what is considered "ideal" application with perfect supporting documents, there can be a delay.

Anyway, I think all will get a (positive) response, sooner rather than later.

I would be more than happy to share if anybody would like to know more about my case.

All,

The instructions for medical examination i received from CIC contains no information about what to do after the examination in that it does not mention anything about what and if there are action items on our part post medical examination.

A phone call to VFS for clarification did not help at all. The fellow who answered told me that I have to wait till CHD, New Delhi sends my passport to VFS, Mumbai collect it and only then book an appointment. After the medical examination submit some kind of acknowledgement and the passport back to VFS.

I guess this is not the procedure anymore. From what I have gathered from this post, now-a-days, CHC does not send the passport to VFS for medicals. It only sends an email with the form. One just has to print it and take it along with identification document copies and photographs. It is the medical center's responsibility to send the report to CHC, New Delhi. VFS has no role to play. This explains why there is no change in the status on the VFS tracker.

Once CHC has received a positive medical report, which in all probability, is the only missing link for final approval, they stamp the passports and send it to VFS to complete the process. It must be only at this stage that the status on tracker is something other than "under processing".

Can you guys share your views on the above?

yes you are right..please go-ahead with medicals..passports will not be dispatched for
medicals.even vfs ppl confirmed that nowadays this is wat chc is doing

Folks - I have consulted my attorney they even communicated files are picked first come , first serve. Seems we have something missing/CHC need more time to make judgement.

Few cases submitted i december even got response. Hope to see some response by tomorrow or next week.

Hello Everyone.....

My husband applied for spousal open work permit in the month of October at VFS, New delhi.
File received at CHC new delhi- Oct 29,2012
Till now we have not get any reply, everyday we check application status online, it says it is in processing.
Please let me know is any1 applied in the month of Oct didnt get reply so far on this forum.

I am just wondering why they are taking so long even for the initial reply
