In background check they cross check the documents provided by you from the respective issuing authority. For criminal record check they use the pcc.

No such thing as passport checks, there are two background checks, one by CIC that checks out your employment, schooling, criminal record and another by CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligent Service) "Security screening procedures identify persons seeking admission who are, or have been, involved in espionage, subversion, or terrorism. CSIS may require an applicant to attend a security interview. I have questions for you guys..I am not sure if this has been asked before or NOT:

1) While applying Online, when CIC gives a Medical request, one needs to go for medicals and the doctor sends results directly to Embassy. So as an online applicant do i need to scan and upload the receipt or do nothing at all as it has been taken care by the doc? I mean do we need to send receipt as a proof to embassy?

2) After medicals have been completed and once embassy asks for passport can we send it through VFS?

3) How much time does it take for entire process from receiving passport request and getting it stamped?

1. Nothing required as an applicant, everything is taken care by the Medicals center

2. I believe so, however, I am still waiting for it to happen, so, not sure

3. In the past it used to 3 - 5 days, not sure, how many days now.
