All the VOs are extremely trained people and they can detect whether or not a person is feeding him/her false information just by look at their eyes. And that's what happened to you in this case, you lied and he/she saw right through you.

Rule of thumb when giving interview to any VO: always be extremely truthful. If you don't know something, just tell him/her you are not sure but NEVER LIE!

Now I am not sure about the exam procedure but if it related to education, you will obviously need a study permit. Or if it just an exam (like you don't have to do any class or anything over a period of time like more than 6 months or something), then you will have to apply for temporary resident permit. But for that, you will need proof of your intention. Maybe you should register for the exam and submit the relevant papers of your intent. In Bangladesh (I am not sure about india), CHC doesn't call for interview. They look through the paper and make their decision. In rare cases, they sometimes call for interview.

Getting any sort of visa can be hard whether it's USA or Canada, if you cannot provide enough evidences for your intent and can be a piece of cake with proper documents and proper intentions. And hopefully, the rejection will not be a problem because in the forms (as far as I saw), they only ask whether you have been rejected from getting Canadian visa.

Thank you so much fr your reply!!
well i'm going there for an exam. And i can only appear for it in the u.s or Canada. There are no centers in India for it. So going by your reply , i think i should pay the exam fee , and show them the printed hall ticket as 2 where i'll be appearing for the exam in canada.
Only thing is that i'm a fresh graduate and i'm not working in my country right now. i've been told that if we show them that we have a secure job in our home country , visas are easier to get.but i don't understand why not having a job should go against me since im still a student. i just passed out from college last year and have been preparing fr exams. My father will be sponsoring my trip. Please suggest me ways that will really improve my chances. i just need an extremely short trip to Canada only 2 appear fr the exam.If i get a good score and apply to universities and get a call, only then can i apply fr a study permit.not right now.

Well yes you need to show some sort of proof that you are actually going to give the exam. Maybe some sort of letter from your institution or payment slip for the exam will be an added advantage.

Yes, if you are working then it will be an added advantage since you will be taking leave and the VO will know that you will have to return over there to continue your work. But that is not always the case since there are loads of people who doesn't have a job/leave and apply for visa and are successful. What you will be needing is the proper documents for the tour (like financial support declaration), good intention and proof of your return after completing the purpose of your visit. As long as you provide everything legit, VO will have no reason to reject your visa.

Best of luck with your preparation.

Hi!!
Rather unfortunate isn't it? well i don't know much about the Canadian visa myself .Only that it is relatively easier to get a Canadian visa than the U.S one. No I don't have any relatives in the u.s.And i had applied with my parents and had showed bookings in a hotel and stated my purpose of visit as being purely tourism. My parents got the Visa but i did not!
It would've helped our case had we tried fr our Visas during internship. What i can suggest to u is try picking up some job so that they believe that you'll come back to India.Don't show any ties in Canada. And try 2 show a very strong financial backing. Also you can get a print out of the test hall ticket from ADA indicating your test center and date.Make a very short itinerary (say about a week) Hopefully it should not be a problem. Largely it all depends on your luck is what i would say. One of my friends told the Visa officers that she's going to give the exam .And she got her U.S visa. but then she applied during internship.
There's no harm in trying..Go ahead with your Canadian visa.
Another thing that works in our favour is that we are just going to Canada to sit fr the exam which is not recognized in Canada. So we are not potential immigrants to Canada. It'll help if you can try putting this point across to the VO .
All the very best and hope that you get your Visa!!

so if you get rejected once from the US, its difficult to get a visa fr the remaining two countries??

I think these type of things are just myths. No one knows the actual answer I guess.

Since you are not applying for a study permit, I am pretty sure you don't have to write a SOP. Just in the purpose of visit, you have to say "Seat for NBDE Exam" (DON'T do what you did in the first place!). Instead of a SOP, I think a reference letter from a professor/institute suggesting you to take the exam from Canada will be a BIG plus!

Well there's nothing to make documents really strong. Just follow the rules mentioned below and you will be good to go:
1. Provide ONLY genuine documents. If you don't have a genuine document for something, produce it with the correct authority.
2. Provide all the documents (original/photocopy) that are mentioned in the checklist.
3. Follow the correct specification for picture.
4. Proof of financial support.
5. Proof of seating for the exam.
6. Property evaluation (from bank/CA firm). This is for country tie.
7. Proof of hotel booking/flight ticket (not mandatory but this may help)
8. Work experience letter/leave letter
9. Academic documents

The list above is just an example. There maybe more or less things required in your local CHC. Collect the checklist and arrange the documents accordingly.
