This is a very confusing topic on the online forms.. What does Nationality mean on the OCI forms? From the dictionary, it's the place you were born.

But on the Passport surrender online form, you can't select India as Nationality. This is very confusing.

I want to apply for my child's OCI and Passport surrender application for me and my wife.

On the child's application form it asks Parent's nationality and person with Indian root.
And for the passport surrender the Nationality does not include India.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Given the context (surrendering Indian citizenship), I'm guessing that in this context 'nationality' means your new citizenship - Canada - because you'd have to have some other nationality/citizenship to surrender Indian cit (and you wouldn't be sending a form to India to surrender your Brazilian citizenship). Hence you can't select India in that field.

Quick search seems to indicate the terms nationality / citizenship are often used interchangeably in this context (your dictionary was giving the short version).
