Hi , i am new to this forum, My nnas application is ready for final review since dec 2019, Anyone knows when can i expect my advisory report?

Hi, my application status also is 'Ready for final review' since Dec 2019. I'm assuming they will issue our advisory reports by the end of February, hopefully in the earlier weeks.

Ok, actually i have chosen both Saskatchewan and Ontario. For Ontario its ready for final review.. But for Saskatchewan my English exam is still pending.

hello thanks for offering me help. as I applied to NNAS and got cot comparable, applied to CNO and got two packages. one for further study and one for experience . my question was some people said just with experience and job description, they got comparable for RN. I am RPN and having 7 yrs experience in Ontario. thanks again

Hello everyone,
I've been watching this board and there has been a lot of great information. But I thought I'd give a run down of my NNAS experience. I first applied Jan 11, 2019. They had all the paperwork by May, needed clarification, received it in June but my application wasn't "Ready for Review" until July. Estimated review would be done 9/11/19, but completed in November. Final review was started, supposed to be done first part of January, but there was a discrepancy to be clarified, and I received the advisory report this morning Jan 17,2020
I'm non-comparable which is very frustrating but not surprising. I was educated and work in Oklahoma and have my BSN, but my associates/RN degree was from a community college and the program had been revamped shortly after I graduated and the school no longer has any curriculum or syllabi from when I was a student. So half the information needed for the assessment is missing.
I'm applying to NSCN, so we will see what sort of response I receive. If anyone has any advice or info about their experience with NSCN I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been reading through their website to make sure I understand everything before applying.

I've found NSCN really helpful and approachable. I got comparable but as we run a big separate midwifery program in Australia, my degree lacked enough OB and paeds for RN, they were really quick with the assessment and the organising the bridging course (which I choose instead of OSCE). So im about 3 weeks into the bridging maternity and its full on, interesting but lots of info. I got my LPN assessment back today and thats all good, so I can apply for provisional license after I complete the Jurispredence exam and then do CPNRE within 6 months... all while working towards RN licence and at the end of the bridging.. NCLEX...

I have my NNAS advisory report completed (comparable result) and I chose Nova Scotia as one of my boards. Please let me know how long it took for you to get results from NSCN, specifically, how long it took them to let you know that you that need to complete bridge or OSCE.

Thats great congrats... RN assessment was completed in just over 2 weeks. LPN was 8 weeks. Are you applying for both registrations??

That is really time waste why have to do the course if we dont want to work in paeds and maternity

From what I can gather, there is very little demand or use of midwives here (I looked it up ther are 12 positions in Nova scotia) so general nurses work on birthing floors, pre and post partum unit etc and therefore need a more than basic understanding of OB and Peads.... Therefore OB and peads is a integral part of their licensure...

It really surprised me coming from Aus where you'd never see a general nurse on a maternity unit and the midwives ran the majority of public births with the backing of a OB in the background to attend complicated or high risk births...

Update:
NNAS report comparable.
CARNA have reviewed my application and stated that i need further education. Unlikely that i will proceed any further as i will not wait years to get into a school to study obstetrics for over year, when i have no want to ever work in maternity or with children. NNAS is a massive waste of time and money as we all know, the nursing boards will still decide in the end so the whole thing should just go to them from the beginning. Good luck all!

SO sorry that you have ended up at this point... quite disappointing for you im sure... For what its worth i'm doing the OB and Peads bridging and it is interesting, not that I have any interest in working in the speciality in the future but I am learning lots... goodluck with the path you decide to take now :0)

Thank you for your reply! I'm really glad that NS typically takes a short period of time for completion of RN assessment. I'm only applying for RN registration. I'm currently working on completing application items with CNO. I still need for my former Nursing Board from my where I come from, to send CNO my NCLEX-RN results and date of exam, per CNOs request. I also need to take the jurisprudence exam, which I'm studying for now. Once these items are completed, I will go ahead and initiate NS RN application.

Oh thats excellent you've already done NCLEX...I very much doubt you'll be asked to do any bridging with that golden ticket I wish Australia participated in NCLEX testing.. wouldve made this task much easier. I am looking for studying nursing. I am Science graduate year 1996 so that makes me middle-age, I was wondering if anyone here can guide me if I can come to Canada to study for Registered Nursing on a student visa? Will study visa for nursing education will be approved. I don't want to go for BSN, because, its 4 year-long course. I was wondering if I can enroll for RN and then appear for a license exam and work there for a while. Not sure if that way I will gain more point for my future PR application. I will really appreciate if anyone can help me with my query. TIA.

Good morning fellow RNs,
I am studying to take CNOs Jurisprudence Exam (JE). I am reviewing and studying in detail all of the Study Resources provided on their website. Usually, open-book exams tend to be harder and do I don't want to be caught by surprise.
Have any of you taken CNOs JE? Was exam very hard?

I'm still not sure what you are asking. But do you have any experience working as a RN in the country where you obtained your nursing education?

If you are not currently a RN, you cannot work in Canada as a RN without completing the 4 year BScN and passing the licensing exam.

Hi, I am planning to apply to NNas. I have ADN from US and passed NCLEX-RN in May 2019, I am Idid LPN and passed NCLEX-PN too in June 2018.i have 8months experience. My question is I will be starting my RN-to BN in May. Should I go ahead and apply now because of the long processing time or wait till I finish my 1 yr BSN program next yr
