I was just thinking about you Krofnica and wondering if your husband got his visa yet. I seem to remember you saying it would take 6 weeks for that. You certainly deserve the patience award.

Turquoise, how do you go about calling CSIS? I'm wondering if I should do that. But I'm still waiting for the CAIPS notes. Maybe they will come this week.

Cleo, I did request to CSIS. but our background checks was over in a month, already received the letter from CSIS that they transfer the result to Vienna last July 2911. afterwards, I saw in my e-cas a new update "medical results been received & they asked for a new PCC so I'm wondering maybe krofnica's case is the same processing as mine since we all the same embassy, Vienna. It's just ours will delay a bit since my hubby needs an ARC. How about yours? any updates?

No, nothing new. We emailed Vienna a couple of weeks ago and they replied the same day saying the checks were still going on and not to worry. And I applied for CAIPS about 10 days ago. Hopefully they will arrive soon. Anyway, like I said, it's only been 4 months since they started processing his application. The wait is not out of the ordinary so far. My husband is really lucky he wasn't in the army during the NATO bombings...so this makes me think his application won't take as long.

I think if they asked us for new medicals and pcc that they are done with the background checks. From the email that I got this morning it sais that they are just waiting for the medical results assessment. I also had contacted CSIS-CBSA and they told me that their file was closed on May 29th. So I think we're in the same boat. Any day now...hopefully :)

Krofnica , are you in BC?

Hi tam.1979 an attorney can not speed up the process nor can they make anything goes faster there are people on the forum that have attorneys and that does nothing so save your self the money and don't get an attorney if CIC sometimes refuse to answer to MP's which they should they for sure will not answer to an attorney especially in a case of "national security" try going the MP route its free and they are suppose to answer to MP not all does though as Krofnica mentioned in 1 of her post so good luck to you but save your money and don't get a lawyer.

hi kufronica, i read ur post and all answers to u and i'm agreed with kedisha about hiring a lawyer etc.
*yes its long time check for areas have high risk i think because i'm in process at islamabad office and they took me 2 years for back grounds.i had a very famous attorney in canada who had not done anything special for me...only he did check status once every year or just reply an answer for any letter which i get from up dated docu info from embassy. the best way is go with MP and Miss Olivia chow "wife of jack layton".she really supports people in trouble. anyway, mine back grounds are completed after 2 years and now i'm with the decision makin officer in embassy after re-med. my case took so long time and uptill now has taken 48 mnths "family class, wife sponsored me from canada" and everage time for islamabad is 23 months but for me it took 48 months uptill now.so,we can just have patience ,share info and pray to God..all we can do.pl keep in touch in any up date.thanks.

Wow saifsmarty!

That is a much longer processing time- puts things into perspective for me. And your attitude so positive! Thank you for sharing!

Good morning,
I had a question about criminal history. I live in usa and I have all requirement papers they ask for. I broke a glass door like 10 years ago and was detain by police for a few hours after the neighbors called the police thinking I was a robber. ( I kicked it cause I was frustrated that I had forgotten my keys). I settle out of court after I paid the building management. However, on my FBI record it states : Destruction of property
finding: Nolle prosequi

Would this make me inadmissible to Canada and I would have to appeal with an application with National Parole Board in Canada?

Thanks

you were given this answer

""Nolle prosequi" means the authorities declined to prosecute you on the charge. As you settled out of court, and were neither charged nor convicted, I am not sure this would make you criminally inadmissible."

It shouldn't have an effect tho if u were never charged

Background checks are done and they've requested his passport! It's kind of ironic that today I said, "That didn't take so long!", even though the waiting seemed unbearable at times. Well, maybe everyone is off summer holidays now and the checks will go through more quickly now. Fingers crossed for everyone.
