My Fiancee is in Canada right now and we want to buy property before I actually move to Canada with PR approved. Our plan is I will pay for the down payment and he will do the martgage as he has job. I will probably stay home and not working. My question is, can we put both our name on the property while he is the only one paying for the mortgage? How can I find out what is the rate now for 1st time home buyer? Thank you very much.

The best you can do is to get a mortgage broker. Yes you can put both names on the property - contact your lawyer for details.
