Hi , I have got accepted into Concordia University for M. Eng Software Engineering for January 2014 intake. I have the following problem.
In my offer letter my name is mentioned as Mr. AAAA BBBB. Where AAAA = my first name and BBBB= surname.
However, in my Indian Passport my Given name(s) is mentioned as Mr. AAAA CCCC where AAAA = my first name and CCCC= middle/father's name and the surname column mentions my surname as BBBB.

Will this difference in the two names cause any problem for CAQ and visa?
And for CAQ and visa which details should I follow? of offer letter or passport?

there is no difference just the middle name is missing which is ok
And for CAQ and visa which details should I follow? of offer letter or passport?
applications forms will have clear fields for first name , last name , middle name etc just fill the appropriate names in the given fields

Do not worry! I had the same problem and I got the visa! It was not even a problem (for me at least) I think what they care about is your first and last name, even in most online applications for universities you have to write your first and last name but middle name is optional!

Are you from India?
See for Indian Passport there is no column for middle name,
There are just two columns one is Given Name where in my case it is written AAAA BBBB here, AAAA = My name and BBBB = Father's name
The second column is surname which in my case is CCCC
Now while applying to concordia I did not mention my Given Name exactly similar to passport and so my name in offer letter is AAAA CCCC where AAAA = my name and CCCC = Surname.
