Name Change?

I'm from NY state and I want to change the name on my passport since I am a married gal now 8) It says on the US Dept of State website that I have to send my passport into them (which i understand) my question is will all my passport stamps and stuff be gone after I send them my passport to change the name? Or do they just change that page with my info on it? I'm wondering because I need the stamps in it as proof to send into immigration....

Usually what happens is they invalidate the old passport, sometime punch holes on the magnetic part(the part they swipe) or some countries just cut a piece the swipe part so it's no longer useful. They will not invalidate any visas that are in it nor take away any pages. They will then issue a new one and send it to you along with the old invalid passport.

Perfect! I just read that I can send apply while I'm here in Canada Just waiting for the marriage certificate. I wish I could get it alot sooner! This process is worth it for sure but soo overwhelming ???

I know right?lol. Are you just starting the process when the new passport comes?
If so you have a long wait ahead of you, my advice is just always be patient!
Try being busy with other things and don't stress it.

Yes I am just finishing up the application, still lots to do. I know it's a long road but its hard not to be a worry wart about it :-\ lol My fingerprints came back and unfortunately are about to be more than 3 months old. Should I redo them even tho I have no criminal history?

When are you planning on sending it out?
I suggest you send it anyways. I've heard of some people that had this happen and was not ask for a new one.
But sometimes they do ask for a new one. It depends on the agent processing the application. But it is better to try anyways.
