Name change on approved LMO..please help..

Hi,

This question is for a friend of mine, she is also a contract worker and has finally found an employer that can provide her an LMO. Her employer already has an approved LMO but one of the applicants has backed out and he told my friend that he is just gonna do a name change so that my friend will be included on the said LMO. Is this possible? How long does it take for a name change? Would her employer still has to advertise, etc? All your answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

i dont think so,,the employer has to adverstise again the job to the national job bank for 14 days and apply for another lmo for your friend....

get them to check if the current LMO can be canceled and re done in your name instead, if not, a new lmo like the other poster said will require them to post an ad for the job in the paper for x amount of time before they can get it.

I know it is possible for an employer to get an open LMO with no name on it and add the name later when they have found somebody. Maybe the employer has such open LMO's. I do not know if it is possible to change the name on an LMO if it is already on there.
