Hello,

I am an Indian citizen, working as a contractor in Canada with Work permit. I want to change my name (both Given Name and surname). But the thing is that I had applied for Canadian PR under Canadian experience class just 4 months ago. So I would like to know:

1. If I change my name now, will it impact the processing speed of my PR ?
2. Do I have to get a new WP here, after I get my name changed in the passport ?

Please help.

Thanks,
Adbhuth.

I guess that will raise a lot of question, it's like you are changing the whole of your identity. One of the names might be understandable but for both names, hard! Unless it's not a common practice in India

Thank you Neyo. I just need to remove a character from my last name. In my given name, my native place name comes first, it should be a middle name, so I would like to get it changed. Since I am giving the affidavit, advertisement copy etc.. it should be okay. Also I am not going to keep altogether a different name, I just want to make some changes in the existing name. What do you say ?

Its definitely not a common practice. I am trying to fix the problem which I should have fixed long ago.

Thanks.
