Name change after PR

Hello, my spouse and I have received our PR and did landing last week.
We are now waiting for our PR cards.
Now, how can we proceed for a name change after marriage.
From where should I start, should I wait for PR card then apply for surname change on passport then again apply for PR card
OR
I can apply for name change on passport while waiting for PR.
Any help will be appreciated

For name change you have to contact your country embassy I think. Check their website first. Then try Legal Name Change as PR.

Why not keep your name? You're not required to change it even if you got married I don't think CIC cares

Thanks, but I want to change my name on my own will, not for CIC or anyone else.

Did you want to change your surname due to marriage?
If that is the case, you do not need to apply anything.
Without applying, you can use marriage surname.

If you want to change your name on your card, you need to apply name change certificate.

So you mean I can just go ahead and change my last name based on the marriage certificate.
I can simply go and change my last name in health card, driving license, SIN using my marriage certificate
and for passport and PR card, I should wait for my first PR card and then re-apply for PR card for last name change and then my passport.

For passport, your country's law will be applied.
You can apply PR card with your marriage certificate to change the name.
Other things, you can simply show them the marriage certificate to change surname.
