Hi all

I am providing 20 photos, taken of me and my wife all round the world on different dates. In the document checklist it says:

Photos of your wedding, customary celebrations, engagement and/or outings. Provide a maximum of 20 photos to support your relationship (taken at different times and places). Please write your name and date of birth on the back of each photo and provide a brief description of the context on the back of each photograph.

Now as this is in the 'proving the relationship to your sponsor' section, i assume it's my date of birth they want? Or all the people in the photo? I will obviously put the date the photo was taken and the names of the people in it and context, but the date of birth on the back confused me. I guess the both my and my wife's name and date of birth on each?

Grateful for any thoughts.

Ian

Put the principal applicant's name and date of birth on the back of each photo.

I believe there isn't any instruction about putting PA's name and DOB for the old package. The above-mentioned instruction was for the new one.
Ok thanks

Hello,

It says this on the checklist: provide a maximum of 20 photographs to support your relationship (taken at different times and places)

Does this mean that there can only be ONE photo per wedding event? Some people are doing like 4 photos per wedding event but I think you're not supposed to?

Photos of you at the same event in 3 or 4 or 5 photos proves nothing to IRCC. It just shows you posed for many pictures ate ONE event. They want to see that you have been spending time together at more than 1 or 2 places and are in an actual relationship.
Include photos with family members from SEPARATE times and dates. Tourist locations where you posed together. They want proof you're not just applying for a visa and don't interact as a genuine loving couple.

Hi,

In your opinion, where should I put a photo of my wedding invitation, amongst the 20 photos or somewhere else? I don't think I should send the original as it is bulky and heavy.

I don't see the point of including the wedding invitation, but up to you.

I think having multiple photos (like the four mentioned) from wedding or from some events can be okay. But the point is not to just have photos of the couple but also other attendees. Sure, you can have photos of just the couple in multiple locations - but also helps to have with family members, friends, other relatives, etc.

We did this, with photos of events and annotating on the back who the other people were. (One deficiency is that I wasn't in many as I'm the camera guy in my family, perhaps could have picked a little better)

Do you think that if I were to go over 20 photos I would get in trouble for '' not following the rules''. For example putting 25 photos instead of 20

They could send it back. Even if unlikely, it's possible.

But more to the point 20 photos should be sufficient. Just pick the most representative 20. Quality over quantity.

More likely than sending it back is that it's not more convincing, mildly annoys the examining officer, and gives the impression you're overcompensating for an unconvincing application.
