Nairobi applicants of 2006 onwards..anyone received request for updated docs

Hi,
The last time there was a post in this thread was so long ago- I am afraid the Nairobi 2006+ applicants lost heart??? I am wondering if anyone who applied in Nairobi in 2006 is still waiting? I applied Oct 2006 and have heard nothing other than acknowledgements over the years when I have written to that slow-poke office to let them know I have moved, upgraded my education etc. In fact I think when I first applied I had a score of 79 but 5 years later my score is probably over 100% lol! Sometimes I even suspect they tossed our files and are wondering how to break the news to us. Anyways, if there is any Nairobi people waiting since 2006/pre-simplified application please share how your wait is going.

My AOR date is 1 November 2006 and you're right in saying that we have given up hope. I most certainly have, it seems like we have been totally forgotten. I have been waiting for the wrong address to be updated for the past 2 years and nothing so far, which worries me even more that when they finally decide to respond i will not receive the information. An interesting issue your raise, will CIC evaluate our applications based on the initial qualification or will they take into consideration all the upgrades you've done to improve your score? All I tell myself is to take heart and maybe my children will benefit from this application.

"your children may benefit from the application" That is so sad...but at least it made me laugh. I am considering re-applying under CEC but need one year work experience since I just graduated from univ in Canada. But the idea of giving them any more of my money irritates me! I bet the one year will come and go without any news from Nairobi so I better start saving up for the re-application.

But you know the worst thing- Is that we sent to the Nairobi office all our original documents birth certs, degrees etc and who knows if they even still have them. I also had the same issue that is posted on this blog where they claimed they did not get my bank draft- twice! And the only way I found out was coz I ordered CAIPS! Well if anyone's children finally get Canadian PR from our Nairbi CHC applications please be sure to let us know

You're lucky with the CEC avenue open to you. I have no other avenues except maybe through Quebec, which i'm seriously considering doing now.

That's hectic, did they require you to send your original documents? Which company did you use to order CAIPS?

Because I am in Canada I just order the CAIPS for myself. It usually takes 30 days to get it. I have been ordering at least one copy per year and other than them writing that bank draft not included there is usually no other news. I wonder what they do with those drafts! Anyway, when they finally acknowledged receiving it I had stapled it several times to the cover letter and used paper clips lol! I guess that helped lol!

Check the CAIPS you do not need to use a company I think if you even have a friend in Canada they can do it for you and it will cost you $5
