Hello All,
Just landed on this forum from google. Am also an applicant and got my PER last week. Am processing from nairobi...Wondering how long it will take before interview or medical request.

Welcome to the forum muta what is PER? Nairobi seems to be processing quite fast. There is really no fixed time. It really deoends on each individual application. If you have given them all they ask for they will process. If any additional info is needed thry will email you and ask. Members on this forum are very helpfull and supportive while you wait so keep checking in .

Am an FSW applicant. However, this is the only place i have found that seems to discuss anything related to the Nairobi VO and so am interested in learning whatever i can. Otherwise thank u...

Hey chipolopolo! Many many thanks on your continuous updates. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to definitely hear something this week. Does ecas stats change after dispatch or before dispatch? We will keep checking tracking with courier company..... I will keep you posted on any updates. In the meantime, enjoy the cold weather, stay warm....this is your first canadian winter

my ecas changed 2 days before dispatch. November 16 i got decision made, then on 18th november fedex notified me that my package has shipped. About my earlier post on social insurance number, i went to service canada today, and i was issued a SIN just using my visa, and COPR. So it seems POE Officer misinformed me about waiting for PR card before getting a SIN. I managed to get SIN, and apply for my health card too.The only thing that has chANGED IS YOU NO LONGER GET AN ACTUAL SOCIAL INSURANCE CARD, JUST A PRINTOUT PAGE WITH YOUR NUMBER ON IT. Hope you hear something soon

Hey Muta!!! Well, what kind of timeline have they given you?? I guess it depends on what your applying for but keep checking in and posting your questions, someone with any info will definitely get back. Good luck!!

Hey chipolopolo!!! Hope your settling well in Ontario! You may get the medical card in mail in few weeks. I guess it may be different in every province. I know you may not remember exactly how long but please try to recall once passport request was sent how long before you saw decision made?? We have completed 4 weeks today and so far nothing

my passport was requested on the 16th of October, i sent it on 20th October, and they received it on 23rd October. Then on November 16th ECAS changed to decision made. On November 18th Fedex picked up my passport(Fedex, and other couriers Like DHL make pickups, and deliveries at high commission daily). Thursday November 20th, i received my COPR, and stamped passport at 8.30am in the morning. So as you can see my decision made was exactly a month after PPR. it can vary depending on how fast you sent it, and also if u included prepaid return label which i did. You can try to contact your courier, if you already sent return label, and ask them to check for your passport. When i looked at my COPR and visa, its dated 11th november meaning they didnt update my ECAS for 5 days after they had already made the decision. Just hang in there, you should be done soon. You will be landed by christmas 8)

How long does it take for Visa Office to request for PP after the interview

Please share with us how long it takes to request for PP after the interview, It has been a month now ever since I had my interview but since then I have never heard from CIC again.

I'm from Mauritius.. My mother already had her Interview and received her Confirmation of Permanent Residence on the 24th November 2014 at Etobicoke. Since then, we are waiting for Nairobi to ask for our passports to issue visas. Still waiting.... tried to contact them via e-mail 3 times, till now no reply from them.. i called the VO in Nairobi, the lady was so not welcoming... she says to send any query via email... :/ anyone knows how much time they ask for passport after interview? Thanks

It seems the time is not defined when they can request for your PP after the interview. I am in the same boat as you I did my interview at the beginning of November but I have never heard from CIC since then.
Just be patient all is gona be okay

We are very tired of waiting.. My mom is in Canada since march 2009, started her application for PR in May 2012... That Nairobi Visa office is too slow. I don't think they have anything to do beside issuing visas for us now. Every paperworks and process are over. A decision has already been made and my mom was granted her PR, CIC canada then notified Nairobi to issue us visas. I don't know what they are waiting for to ask for our passports now. It's been two weeks already. I think they should be able to answer our query on phone, because they restricted inquiry by phone only to those whose files are still in process. That lady (Norah) always answer the phone calls. There was only once i called that a man answered and he sent us a mail to our request soon after the call. I'm really tired of this waiting game :S :

I just hope so.. I wonder if the 'in the next few weeks' does not exceed one month... I just hope they meant in the next 1 or 2 coming weeks...
