No please, that will not reduce your chances. It simply has no bearing on your results or chances.

It is tantamount to saying " Does checking your whats app continuously reduces your chances of getting a new message?"
Well, "No". I have seen a lot of people on this forum inquiring that their visa consultant get hold of their MYCIC password saying you will login again and again causing your account to lockout.

This is presumably a trick played by visa consultants to get hold of your account and mint money from you. That is it.
There is no such thing as checking your status and getting less updates.
