So if your reason to attend the conference has passed then there is no reason to come to Canada. So what is your question?

Yes. You have to declare your refusal. Show funds, travel history, ties to home country and valid reasons to travel. Where are you from?
is your refusal saying "elapsed dates" Or something else?
usually they dont refuse the application for "Elapsed dates", they will give you visa and you can use it for events later.
I believe your application is refused for other reason and you are thinking that it is due to "Elapsed dates"
