Currently accepted for Seneca Project Management for 1 year starting September 2014. Applied for visa 8 July 2014. Approved today 16 July 2014.
Not being able to withstand the daily tension, I decided to pay a visit to CHC today. I am from Bangalore so flew to delhi last night with the intention of atleast expediting my process.
8:30Am - Arrived at CHC, The security was not ready to let me in but I told them that it is an emergency and needed my passport immediately. I had carried my VFS receipt showing that I have applied for my visa. After a lot of persuasion, and speaking to the head of security who went inside the building to confirm if I could be allowed in, finally gave me the good news that I could enter.
9:20Am - I had to leave all my belongings at security and was allowed to take only my wallet and the VFS receipt.
9:30Am - (By this time people had started queuing up for different reasons at the CHC) I went to the officer on desk-2 and explained that I needed to travel abroad before I start my course in Canada and needed an expedited decision on my application. The officer first asked me to send an email and wait for the reply. I re-stated that this was an emergency and needed my passport immediately. ( I told them that sending an email and waiting for 21 days for a reply was just not possible and requested them as to why it would take so much time for a straight forward decision). The lady officer told me that she would have to speak to the concerned case officer and asked me for details of my passport. I gave her the VFS reference number but she stated that they don't track by VFS reference number and needed passport information like passport number. I told her that a copy of my passport is in my bag at the security. And after thinking, she took my full name and went inside to locate the case officer. She asked me to take a seat and wait for my name to be called.
11:15Am - The lady officer called me and stated that they had found my application and my case officer wanted to speak to me. She asked me to take a seat and wait to be called again.
01:00Pm - I was called again and went to Desk-2 where the lady officer was accompanied by another lady officer whom I believe is a case officer. The questions I was asked was.
- Why do you need your passport in a hurry - Again I re-iterated that I need to travel
- Why Canada for studies - Explained a bit about Canada being the premier education provider
- You have travelled quite a bit in the last 6 years - Why - Both business and pleasure
- Why project management - Again re-iterated a couple of points from my SOP
- What if your application is rejected today - I said I will be sad, but life goes on- I will choose Australia or UK where I already have offers. I just added that I have left those countries choosing Canada as my no.1 priority for education
- She asked me if I have any further questions - I asked whether I got the visa and if I will get my passport today.
She did not have any expression on her face and asked me to take a seat and wait to be called.
03:30Pm - I was called again and the lady officer asked me to complete a couple of letters. One was that I am collecting my application in person and the other was a feedback of service. I completed both the forms and handed it back to the officer.
04:00Pm - The golden moment. My passport was handed back to me and it now has a flash new visa in it. My application was approved. What a relief.
So guys if you have been waiting for a long time, do not hesitate. People waiting for visas, I do hope you get your visas soon.
Always follow the mantra - try try try again until you succeed. We might face difficulties at every step. if we give up its our loss. if we try, at-least we have the satisfaction of not giving up easily.
