I applied for Canadian Student permit visa and I got the rejection letter yesterday. The reasons for the rejection that they give are as follows:-
1) I have not satisfied them that I will leave Canada after my stay because (a)there is no travel history and (b) Purpose of visit.
2) Other reason is that they are not satisfied that I am a bonafide student & would depart Canada at end of authorized stay.

I got admission from university of Ontario Institute of Technology. I have applied for my masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering for fall 2016. They had sent me a letter of acceptance saying that I have got admission.

My background history is that I completed my undergraduation from Manipal Institute of Technology. I have scored 85% overall and my IELTS band score overall is 7.5. Therefore I am well above the eligibility criteria.

I am now planning to reverse their decision by appealing to them by reconsidering the same application. From my point of view, I do not find any strong reasons for rejection. Can anybody give me some advise on how to appeal them to reverse their decision.

Thanks in advance :)

What travel history do you have? For the travel history refusal reason CIC is specifically looking for trips to other countries requiring visas (e.g. UK, US, Europe). Do you have this kind of travel and did you show it in your application?

What evidence did you provide to show ties to your home country and prove you have plans to return home once your studies are complete?

What country did you apply from and what is your status there?

When did you complete your studies? Was is recent? If not, what have you been doing since completing your studies?

Appeals for reconsideration for study permits don't work. You should focus on reapplying instead.

When did you apply?

And what country you applied from?

Paper or online?

Same happened to me . I dont think so there is any other option except to apply with new application addressing these core rejection issues . Adding relavant documents and perfect sop . I myself at fix how to resolve there objection of travel history if somebody do not need to, intend to visit any foreign country. Even the purpose of applying for study permit is purely to acquire international qualification.

You've got a good profile, why would you apply for UOIT which has a very low ranking? getting admission in a good university increases your visa chances exponentially, this thing alone could be your reason of rejection.

Yes - I think that's part of the problem. UOIT has a poor reputation. This is probably one of the reasons why CIC is questioning if you're a genuine student ("purpose of visit" refusal reason).

I got rejected for the same reason and I was accepted to UBC for masters.

I'm sorry to hear that. UBC is a great school.

Yeah it is a shame. I will be applying for the next intake, hopefully with the help of a lawyer I will get the permit.
