In that case what would be the best way to bring one's wife/husband to Canada given theres a romantic interest in Canada under SP or WP? open work permit? or something else?

I would say OWP - S. Although, my application is still in Process. But u have seen better success rates from ppl around.

His spouse recently received her medical request, only after 4 weeks of application sent through VFS to New Delhi. I am planning to do the same. Having patience and doing lots of research before applying seems to be the right thing to do. ;D

Hi Avez: My wife who is in canada applied for my PR under CEC for both of us in Aug 2013 and we got our file# in OCt 2013. I submitted my OWP in July and have been still waiting for the results. I have heard that PR application and OWP application work independent of the other..i mean one doesnt affect the other.

Please let me know what are the documents u have attached at the time of applied ..if you could give me the details that would be very helpful for me.

And what were the reasons of rejection of your Visitor visa.

if you could share that would be very helpful.

Hope you are enjoying the stay with your hubby seriously one side i am happy and other side m little jealous with you because we have applied the application together on 21 june'13 and u r there and m still here.

Thanks Rmi.. I have applied on July 5th for an OWP. Hope this time I get the visa. How long did it take you? Its already been over 3 mnts and 3 weeks for me..

What i observed from people and my own personal experience in this forum.

Anything can be possible people are here who got there Spouse -open work permit.

people are here who got there Spouse Visitor visa even with first attempt.

Just make the file strong as strong as u can.

Add the proof and evidence ties with the home country.

Show them all the thing give ur best shot and before apply everything search on that.

Rest up to luck ... anything can be happen.

My situation is exactly the same. Applied 2 times for visitor and got rejected... I have applied the 3rd time for OPEN work permit. My wife is in Canada on a work permit and a +ve LMO.
I will keep u posted on the results. I think we have a better chance for an OWP than visitor.
But in the end its all in the visa officers hand.

My wife has a positve LMO and a work permit valid until 2015.
Other than that i think i submitted all documents as mentioned on the website. We had my wife's company layer prepare a cover letter explaining y we r filing this application. Hope this info helps.

Sorry for the delay in response.
No, my friend had not received an AOR when he applied for his wife.

My friends wife got her SOWP... JUST within 6 weeks... UNBELIEVABLE RIGHT... LOL... I am very happy for them...
I know there folks on the string waiting for more 3 months... From India itself...

I asked him many questions...

1. He did not put ANYTHING for home ties for her
2. He did not put her resume or work experience or educational certificate
3. His cover letter/invitation is so simple and straight forward

Hmmm... I guess his wife's file was handle by an angel...

4. He did not address even a single reason for the first refusal

I AM STILL IN SHOCK... In a nice way...

5. He only put his work stuff... His positive LMO, CAD bank statements, T4, pay stubs, relationship proof, etc...

That's why I've decided to take it easy... Get my CEC application in order... Then send out the SOWP application with AOR for CEC, in shaa Allah...
