Can anyone from seniors, help me:

Today, i have received call for medicals. I have 2 daughters (11y & 7y) and a son (4 months). He is suffering from "Down Syndrome".

Will there be any hindrance or obstacle about medicals (and onwards immigration) of my son?

your inbox is full so cannot reply. I am not sure of the answer to your question, but hopefully someone will reply.

The OP has been told that his child is probably inadmissible and that the application probably will be refused.

Hi Ramesch,

You must pass a medical examination before coming to Canada. Your dependants must also pass a medical examination even if they are not coming to Canada with you.

Applications for permanent residence will not be accepted if an applicant’s health:

* is a danger to public health or safety, or
* would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada.

Hello,

My advise is add your son in your wife application becasue he is only 4 months old don't make new passport to your son just ad him in your wife passport if not then let me know give another advise.

regards.

Dear beliz.

Our passports are computerized and as per law of Pakistan, passport of individual is to be made.

Is there any other option / way available? if yes seniors please guide me.

Dear PMM & Repeshhari.

Thanx a lot for your quicker replies. Being the senior most on this blog, please guide me about my son. Boy is only 4 months old and has mild syptoms of down syndrome. but as per paediatric consultants at Karachi, he is near to normal child. He weight, refluxes, response, etc are alike normal child.

Moreover, his echocardiogram of heart reveals that his heart is also normal.

Please Please Please help me out in this regard. I am very much depressed due to it. I know my country has less capabilities for rehabilitation of these type of child.

unfortunately, I am unable to help as I am not an expert on this. In fact, you are further in your immigration process than I am.

If you are inadmissible to Canada due to the medical condition of your son, then you could either look at another country for immigration or (i dont know if this is possible), look for a job in Canada, go there on some work permit and live there without PR. I must say, I don't know if the second option is possible or not. My parents lived in foreign countries a lot, thereby giving me access to better quality education, healthcare, etc and much of the time overseas was spent as non-PR and non-citizens.

You should look at getting H1b visa in US and get Medical Insurance through your employer- Employment base insurance can't deny pre-existing conditions so little boy will get care---

Get second opinion from a specialist, he might be suffering minor symptoms other then what you think--- Good luck!

u can consult an immigration lawyer in this regard. very few persons have faced this kinda problem. i know one case where was visa delayed for more than one year cos one family member had medical problem(heart bypass surgery).but it was a family class case. good news is that they got the visa ultimately.

my god give u strenght for doing best for ur son...i had same feeling few days before but case was different...as i studied abt down syndrome i realize that its not a harmful desease..its the physical and mental disorderness....this is not caused for others....im not sure but when will u go to ur dmp u must say to him/her full history and previous treatment details in report form and prescriptions of medicines u r using..all must along with u....this will not cause delay in ur case...after that if immigrant doctors in new delhi will feel more tests and description of ur son so they will mail u..and u will contact with ur dmp and show his/her letter from drs...and if ur dmp recommend u some specific doctor..so u will concern with him and give all data to ur dmp...he/she will send to new delhi drs....after that they made decision to accept ur medicals or not...which will be less chances for rejection....becase they prefer deseases like cancer and T.B...and they r not rejecting the applications just knowing abt presence of these desease in applicant or their dependents...they must give u time to trecover from illness and induring the period they hold their cases..and after one will send them recovery report the again start processing on his/her application
im not sure abt all but i can say this becasue of my experience...my medical was done by dr rohinna sattar in karachi...

Dear tashas.

Is Dr Roohina a cooperative dr or not? I mean can she favor me in my case?

On this blog, i've heared about Dr Abdul wakil as well (in karachi). Do u have any idea about his reputation (any favor to my case)?

By the way, what's your current immigration status?

Dr wakil is a better choice than rohina sattar.

Hi,
I am not aware of the medical procedure abt down syndrome child but I have worked for a special school as a occupational therapist and want to advice u that it is a great responsibility to raise this child and u start to work as early as possible with this child.Be in contact with a special educator, physiotherapist, occupational therapist. It is very good that he does not have any heart problem but there r chances of this in later stage. be careful. I was also having 1 child(Cerebral palsy) who expired at the age of 8.God has given u this child becoz u can give better life to him.
In canada there r very good special schools.I will prey to god that u get pr with ur family and this child will have very high tech facilities there.
Regards and best of luck
