Hi, my son application framework:

Application sent: February 11th 2021
AOR: April 11th 2021
Started processing his application: May 12, 2021
Background verification: May 17, 2021 (Completed)
Citizenship test.1: July 16, 2021 (FAILED)
Citizenship test.2: September 22, 2021 (FAILED)
Prohibitions: November 01, 2021 (Completed)
Physical presence: November 01, 2021 (Completed)
Citizenship test.3 (via Microsoft Teams): December 13, 2021 (PASSED with 18/20)
Language skills: In progress

My son failed his citizenship test twice. The news in my son case is that the physical presence and prohibitions where completed...before the Citizenship test and Language skills......My son has requested an Urgent Processing (he planned to join the Canadian Armed forces).

I'm confused. Did he submit his application before he met the residency requirement?

No, no. He became PR in 2013. Total physical presence: 1825 days (5 years).
Ah - got it. You're saying that the review of his physical presence was completed in November, not that he completed his physical presence in November. That makes more sense. I misunderstood.

What evidence did he submit to support his plans to join the Canadian Armed Forces? Ultimately it's hard for any of us to know if this request will be considered. It's a shame he failed the test twice since he created a delay of five months for his application.

Good luck and hopefully the urgent request is considered.

Hi, with his citizenship application, he joint a strong motivation letter/one full page (he explained why he would like to joint the Canadian Armed Forces, his added value as a candian military; his contribution to the world peace, and the security of canadians). He finished his motivation letter by asking for an urgent processing…because he need Canadian citizenship to go to a Canadian school, college, or university.

All he can really do is wait and see if they process his request urgently based on his desire to join the Canadian Armed Forces.

He doesn't need Canadian citizenship to go to a Canadian school, college, or university. I'm not sure I understand that part of his letter.

Good luck.

He doesn’t need Canadian citizenship urgent processing for school. He is PR. He can attend university or college.

He considered "Canadian citizenship to go to a Canadian school, college, or university" in the broad sens. In fact, in his motivation letter he explained that going to the Canadian Armed Forces is also going to a school with needed a citizenship to apply (he argues that to be admitted at the Royal Military College of Canada you must be member of the Canadian Armed Forces that mean you must be a Canadian citizen...).

OK - got it. It makes sense if he specifially mentioned RMC. A general statement about requiring Canadian citizenship to attend school in Canada doesn't make sense.

Anyway, all you can do is wait now and see if the urgent request is considered.

Yes, for RMC he must be a Canadian citizen. For Regular Officer Training, he has until end of January (I believe) to apply for Sept 2022.
