Hi Guys
I landed in Canada on 14 June 2014 and my PR card expires on 22 oct. 2019. Till now I have stayed in Canada for about 40 days but my family has been staying there continuously. I want to know following questions:-

1) Will my absence from Canada for so long affect the process of my family getting citizenship of Canada? I was the primary applicant in the immigration process.

2) Can I retain my permanent resident status if I return to Canada after 3 months from today i.e till last week of Nov. 2017

3) If I don't return to Canada and my PR card expires, then what are the options with me to return to Canada and joining my family later on.
I am eagerly looking forward to expert opinion from your side
Thanks

Hi

1. Your absence has zero impact on whether your family members qualify for citizenship.

2. The expiry date of your PR card means nothing. You have been out of Canada for more than 3 years since you landed and therefore already fail to meet the PR Residency Obligation.

3. You are still a PR regardless of whether your PR card is valid or not. As you no longer meet the RO, anytime you enter Canada, you can be reported, which would likely lead to the revocation of your PR status. If you lose your status, your spouse can sponsor you for PR when you are ready to actually move here. If you are allowed to enter without being reported, you need to stay for at least 2 years to once again be in compliance with the RO.

2) How will I meet my family once my PR card expires or I surrender it to immigration authorities there.

1. There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse.

2. You can enter through a land border after your PR card expires, though you will likely be reported. Or you can renounce and apply for a TRV.

1. You should be paying taxes since your family is living in Canada so you are paying into the system but yes no income requirement for spousal sponsorship.

Hi
I could not show my old driving passport when applied for G1 passport. I want to know whether I can show my old passport and add driving experience to my credit before applying for G licence, or I have to appear G2 licence driving test and then to final G licence.
Waiting in anticipation.
Thanks
