I am currently on F-1 visa in the US and applied a visitor visa for my transit in Montreal (YUL). I applied for an visa online, and received a message requesting my passport to be sent to the VAC in New York. I had been very busy for my finals so I sent my passport and other required forms pretty late (on Tuesday afternoon, DEC 13). I am also flying to Washington DC on this Thursday (DEC 22), so I have to receive my passport on Wednesday (DEC 21) so that I can board my flight and check in my hotel. I am afraid that I will not be able to get my passport in time. I don't have a driver's license or any other government issued ID besides my passport. Is it likely for me to receive it in time? Is there anything I can do here?

I just tracked my passport and my check sent via the USPS, and it said that my passport has been delivered on Thursday (DEC 15) while my check has been ready to be picked up on Friday (DEC 16). I also received an email from the VAC saying that they have received my application on Friday(DEC 16). I used the priority mail to send both my passport and my check, and another prepaid priority mail included in the same mail that I was sending my passport to retrieve it. I also tracked my passport on the VAC official website saying that "Passport in Transit to the Visa Office". I know I should have sent it earlier to avoid any awkward things like this from happening. I could not be more regretful. I know it is stupid and I feel really sorry for myself. But is there anything that I can do to avoid this potential conflict? Thanks!
