My passport expires before my study period is over ... Can I apply for Student Visa

I have an Nigerian passport issued in 2015. Now I am planning to apply for master study and my passport is expiring before my study period finishes. Will I get my Visa that goes beyond my passport expiry date or the date of my passport expiration?
Can I renew my passport over and extend my study permit or apply for PGWP?

You need a new passport else permit will only be issued to passport expiry and then you have the hassle of paperwork to extend. Your choice ultimately depends how far away your passport expiry is I guess.
