I got my PGWP after almost 200 days of waiting...

Unfortunately my passport expires in a few weeks. So I went and got a new one. And now I can apply to extend my PGWP. However going to the CIC website I got confused.

I am working full time as web developer.
I do have a written job offer, but do I actually need it? Since I already have the job.

Do I go through the exactly the same process as I did when I first applied for PGWP? Do I choose my current immigration status to be "worker" or "student"? Because when I choose "worker" it asks me if I have Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Which I don't.

All I want is to extend my existing PGWP and keep working in the same company.

Thank you.

Yes you have to extend it. Your previous permit was valid as the same date of your passport.
As your passport is going to expire, I believe your work permit is about to expire as well.
You can continue working only if you have applied for work permit extension before the expiration of your old one. Then you will be in implied status and continue working for the same employer. So apply asap! You don't need a LMIA.

Thank you. That makes sense. I guess I'll have to do a paper application, since the online portal asks for LMIA and there's no way to bypass it.

Hi Kristianvassilev,

I am in the same situation as you were before. My PGWP was reduced to due to passport expiry and my wife received an OWP till my passport expiry (which makes sense as I have a job in NOC A category). I have now renewed my passport and applying for PGWP extension via Paper Application. I also need to apply for wife's OWP extension, CAN I send her application with mine? Is that feasible? Did you receive any response from CIC regarding your and your wife's extension? Please share you experience as I am very confused right now.
