1. Provide photocopy of biographical pages of that passport.

2. Write explanation something to this effect: I do not hold any valid passport since the expiry of last one as of (...date...). During this gap period I did not travel outside Canada.

do i have to mention the reason behind not renewing my passport and keep it uptodate
can you suggest any reason , for me the reason i do not have any plan to travel outside Canada is that enough

I did mine with an expired passport with the same explanation, you don't have to say more.
