She has a pending application to be a citizen (Inland application). I'm her sponsor.

What are her options for childbirth?

Will she be covered by OHIP?

Pls let me know my options. Thanks a lot.

She has inland application to become a permanent resident, not a citizen. Big difference.

Her options is insurance or self pay. No she isn't covered by OHIP until she is actually a permanent resident.

Actually, if she has received eligibility letter, she is eligible for OHIP. She needs eligibility letter from CIC, Photo ID, proof of address and fill application at Service Ontario.
If she has no letter from CIC, options are as described by CanV.

Look into a midwife from what i hear they are free. The babys care will be covered but not your wife's. When i came to Ontario as a pr i had to wait 3 months before i received ohip, i had to pay for all my pregnancy tests and scans . May be being inland is different .

Contact CIC. If you can get an OWP under the trial program then she will be eligible for OHIP.

There are basically 2 options to get OHIP:
1. Wait until stage 1/AIP approval is completed for your inland app, and then she'll be eligbile for OHIP. But current processing times at 16 months plus another 3 months waiting period for OHIP, this probably won't happen anytime during her pregnancy
2. Assuming you sent the OWP app along with Inland app, then once she receives OWP and has a full time job offer, then she would be eligible for OHIP (again after a 3 months wait).

If no OHIP, then as mentioned above get a midwife. They are in very high demand in many Ontario cities so if you don't request one asap after getting pregnant you may not get one. They are free even to those without OHIP, and you will only need to pay for a few things out of pocket (blood work, ultrasounds, and if you decide to deliver in a hospital it will be a reduced fee).
