My sweet, next door neighbour (a nice Scottish guy with sky blue eyes and blond curls) was deported.
Three cars with eight armed officers came in the afternoon and arrested him. He was in Canada for three years, residing with his girlfriend.
He could not take anything with him. She had to take some of his stuff to the detention center, before his deportation.
I am in shock!!! I thought that no one gets deported in this country. So many immigrants abusing the system, and here is Paul – who did not ask for one cent from anyone.

He may be "a nice guy", but people do not get deported for no reason.
I agree that it is not fair or reasonable that others who abuse the system are still here in Canada.

FWIW most new immigrants want illegal immigrants, and those who cheat or abuse the system to be deported or kept out in the first place.
For those who follow the rules, there are benefits and opportunities.

OK, he made a “bobo” but 3 cars, 8 officers and guns? We were terrorized! He was not dangerous in any way. Actually, he is such a great guy.

He is now in Scotland. I guess that it will be difficult for him to return and reside with his girlfriend.

Who knows what the reason was, or what his real history is?

If he overstayed, then the response was over the top; However, if he is a mass murderer in Scotland or has firearms offences on his file, the response was prudent.
The point is, we really don't know, CIC do.

You are likely to be right on that matter, he needs a good immigration lawyer.

its sad but 3 cars and 8 armed :s

you never know bro......cant say anything :s

I wonder if this was because he overstayed in Canada. Do you know if he was on any type of Visa while living with his girlfriend? Normally citizens of more visa-waiver program countries can stay visa-free in canada for up to six months. I wonder if he stayed in canada past this period without getting a visa extension.
