Hi guys,

I contacted the Bureau of Immigration in Manila in regards to the need to have a return ticket to exit Philippines, here is the answer:

Dear Sir/Madam:

With regard to your query, we have been informed, although not officially, that a roundtrip ticket is not required for Supervisa holders. However, you may check with your airlines since they would have the guidance from Canadian authorities regarding requirements at the port of entry. Thank you.

Should you have other immigration-related queries, please do not hesitate to call the BI Helpdesk Hotline at (632) 524-3769.

Hope this helps

Yes, kindly give us an update Gee1811! Let us know if you bought her only one way ticket and what happened at the port of entry. Where was the POE, Toronto or Vancouver?

I will be buying ticket this week but, I could not decide yet if one way or round trip ticket. here's his timeline,

docs sent : April 03, 2012
meds request : April 24, 2012
med forwarded: May 10, 2012
Visa received: June 16, 2012

So, if you see the timeline it really took us more than 2 months after submission of documents. We even thought they needed more documents from us but, thank God the process is over. He has 5 years Visa validity and will come before June 30th.

Thanks!

Here's a link to the other canadavisa.com forum (here) with similar question:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/one-way-flight-with-6-year-multiple-entry-super-visitors-visa-t107821.0.html

I operate the BestQuote Travel Insurance Agency, which provides instant quotes for travel medical insurance which meets the super visa requirements ( http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/parent-and-grandparent-super-visa-health-insurance )
and so I've dealt with hundreds of applicants over the last 6 months, and i know of a few who have mentioned to me that they were only buying a one way ticket because the maximum period allowable for an open ended return ticket was one year. If they plan to stay longer than one year, buying a return ticket is only going to waste money.

I haven't been told by any of my clients that they ran into a problem at the POE buying only a one way ticket. However, I didn't tell them to phone me if they had, so I can only confirm that I have had a few clients that did this, and it doesn't seem like they had any issues.

I don't think (I could be wrong) that a border official is only going to issue the entry stamp for one year if the super visa allows for two, and the time remaining on the passport is two years or more. Of course, if your parent has a return plane ticket showing a scheduled return in a year - maybe they might stamp only one year?

Hi Cutyshrek!

Were you able to buy just one way ticket? I am planning to buy for my mom's tickets this week. Has your parent/s arrived na? How was it at the port of entry? Was it in Vancouver / Toronto for your parent/s?

Thanks in advance for your feedback :)

Hi! I read your posts, I have questions kung paano process sa pag-apply nang Supervisa. Pwede ba yong husband ko ang mag-invite nang Nanay ko para sa kanyang supervisa application? Kailangan ba nang bank statement nang husband ko at nang Nanay ko? Tulungan mo naman ako... Thanks.
